This one-day course is delivered in a classroom setting, with engaging presentations enhanced by discussion of real-world case studies. Monitoring Peatlands is highly recommended as CPD for peatland restoration practitioners, as well as those managing, monitoring and studying peatlands.

Course Topics

Introduction to peatland monitoring: Monitoring methods for blanket peatland habitats, including justification, project design and implementation.

Remote monitoring with UAVs: Use of UAVs (unpersoned aerial vehicles) for peatland monitoring.

Sustainable monitoring: How to fund a monitoring programme, gain support, and make effective use of the data.

Sign in at the Whernside Building reception from 9am. You will be directed to the break room where refreshments will be available. The course will start at 9:30.

Free parking is available at Craven College. Please note that this car park permits reverse bay parking only.

Craven College is a 15min walk from Skipton Train Station through Aireville Park.
