YWT Members Exclusive Talk: Uncovering the Secret Lives of Migrating Birds

Exclusively for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust members, join our friends from Flamborough Bird Observatory during Migration Week to learn about the science of bird migration and monitoring birds through ringing. Discover how bird ringing helps to track the movements of migratory species, uncovering vital insights into their behaviour, flight paths, and the challenges they face.

This special event may also include live demonstrations of birds in the hand (weather permitting), giving you a rare opportunity to see migrating species up close and learn how this research supports efforts to protect them.

Accessibility and terrain

There is wheelchair access to the Living Seas Event Centre and to the outdoor classroom where the talk will take place.

The Living Seas Events Centre is our events hub near South Landing, Flamborough.

What to bring/wear

Whilst the Living Seas Events Centre is warm and dry, the demonstrations of birds in the hand will be taking place outside so please dress for the weather.

Toilets and catering

The Scrumdiddlyumptious by the Sea cafe is open 10am-3pm, Wednesday-Sunday.

Parking

There is ample parking available for both cars and coaches right outside the Living Seas Events Centre. Parking is controlled by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and charges apply.

Cancellation and refunds

In the situation that Yorkshire Wildlife Trust needs to cancel an event we will be in touch regarding your booking via email and our Supporter Services team will process the refund of your tickets as soon as possible. Please allow up to 5 working days for this to happen. If you, or members of your party, are unable to attend your booked event, you are eligible for a refund up to 7 days before the event date.
