Background to 'Zak'
A simulation for young people in schools focusing on online grooming and the radicalisation process. 'Zak' has been used in many Kent schools since September 2013.
- Increase the awareness of young people around the process of grooming/radicalisation of individuals.
- Enable young people to identify and discuss factors/indicators of grooming/radicalisation in their peers.
- Encourage self-reflection on their own behaviour.
- Facilitate understanding regarding where and to whom young people should report their concerns.
- Identify some of the procedures in place to support individuals in a safe pre-criminal space.
