    Ancestors - Nourishing Our Roots

    With Fiona McDonald

During this retreat we will be using Systemic Constellations and Ritual to reconnect to ourselves, our ancestors, the land and nature.

Some of us may feel connection to our families and to our ancestors in some way, others may feel disconnected. However, throughout this weekend we will learn the importance of these relationships and about how to deepen our connection to them.

Through the Constellation process we can begin to uncover the root causes of our disconnection from the support of our families and ancestral lines. By untangling unhelpful patterns, unconcious contracts and reconnecting to our own agency and flow of love and life we can find a new path.

However, this workshop is not just about 'issues' we may have inherited from our families and ancestors, but about how they nourish and help us, and how we can use simple nature based rituals and somatic awareness to honour and nurture our relationships with those who are not dead but very much alive through our DNA in our everyday lives and who we are.

We will be co-creating a safe compassionate space where clarity, movement and deep changes can happen.

Through the work we will cultivate:

    • A growing awareness and reconnection to your authentic self and your place in your family line
    • On-going ways of building your relationship with ancestors
    • Sensitivity and compassion for other beings - people, animals
    • A reconnection to nature as a healing, regenerative force

Fell Edge is a beautiful wild, but safe, space to practice connection to nature and inner deep work.

No previous experience is necessary, just an open mind.

    About systemic constellations.

Systemic constellation work helps us to find the threads that lead us to the root of problems or difficulties and helps us to become aware of and let go of unhelpful emotional patterns. We are then more able to reconnect with ourselves in a way that is more true to our soul's purpose.

    Instead of issues being an individual experience, constellations enable us to see that many of our dificulties stem from ‘entanglements’ or unconscious loyalties to the suffering of others in our family, or other systems to which we belong. Constellation work includes everyone and everything that might have a place - trauma and other events and experiences that have impacted on our family and ancestors. These continue to affect our lives today and can manifest in differnt ways such as;

    • illness - physical and emotional
    • difficulties in relationships - partners, friends, family, work colleagues
    • a sense that something is wrong but you can't put your finger on the reason
    • difficulties with self-esteem and being your your real self with autonomy
    • feeling stuck

Through the constellation process we can begin to untangle unhelpful patterns, gain clarity and start to create a healing movement towards strength and wellbeing.

We will be working in a small group, where connection, trust and compassion grow as part of the process. Everyone's presence is a gift to the group, and each person benefits, not just from their own work, but from the work of others. It's a co-creation!

    All work is confidential.

This workshop is an LGBTQI+ friendly space.

Please note: Systemic constellation work can be emotionally intense and therefore if you are experiencing any kind of acute mental health crisis then this may not be the best time for you to do this work.

    Testimony from previous participants:

"I’m not sure what to say about the workshop except that as a first experience of Systemic Constellations I found it deeply moving and incredibly profound. I think that fact that it is so somatic means that it bypasses the conscious mind, and in doing so enables healing at a deep level to occur. I feel really excited at the potential and healing possibilities of this modality and I can’t wait for the next workshop

I also loved the sensitive and skilful way Fiona facilitated, and the leadership she showed in terms of how she role-modeled showing-up, being present, authentic and vulnerable – which I think helped the group to engage with and commit to the process." Rachel

“I have attended two constellation workshops with Fiona which have been some of the the most powerful therapeutic experiences I’ve had. Each workshop has created a shift internally and in my family system. Fiona provides a safe and grounding space to do deep work. If your family is anything like mine (ie like most families!) then I recommend attending Fiona’s workshops. I’ve really enjoyed the workshops and I plan to attend more in the future” Naomi

“I went to the workshop last weekend and it was brilliant. I was made very welcome by Fiona. We worked in a small group and did some very powerful work throughout the day.. I’ve done some constellation work before down south but I’m so pleased to find someone doing this amazing work in the north now. Constellation work really impacts the way you look at situations that are troubling you and gives you a new way of working through life’s difficulties. As a psychotherapist I have found it helpful with the complexities of my own past trauma. Will definitely be back for more. (Nina)
