Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

A weekend exploring mental awareness combined with performing. We are delighted to welcome for the first time in the UK this specialised and unique course. The focus is on developing an insight into the artist and the inner self. The course aims to build confidence, reduce anxiety and acquire the skills to perform to your best ability.

Zen & Singing was developed and taught in Amsterdam in 2007 by Marc Brookhuis and Elsina Jansen, and in the following years became an international course based in France. Since then, up to 150 students and professionals have participated with a tremendous success rate.

Marc Brookhuis has had more than 15 years’ experience in Zen meditation and mindfulness and works as Zen teacher and mental coach for performers. Elsina Jansen is an active stage director and lectures at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and the Prins Claus Conservatoire in Groningen

The course starts on Friday 8th evening and continues on Saturday 9th with the final day being an afternoon and evening session. Two sessions will be spent on singing and performance with pianist Richard Black accompanying.
