Event description
The purpose of the event is to bring together people who are working in community and neighbourhood groups on local actions in Yorkshire.

About this Event

10am-10.30am arrival tea/coffee for 10.30am start

Finish 1pm with simple bring and share lunch (optional)

If possible only two people per group please due to limit on numbers attending.

Zero Carbon Yorkshire want to initiate this network to increase the impact and effectiveness of local groups, as well as encouraging others to set up similar groups. The event is aimed at people involved in, or wanting to set up, Zero Carbon type groups in communities across Yorkshire.

Purpose• An initial workshop to enable participants to share experience and knowledge and to connect people involved in Zero Carbon related groups in Yorkshire.

• To launch the network and discuss how to expand it to involve all similar groups across the county.

Content (depends on who attends and contributes)• Introduction – Zero Carbon Yorkshire and plans for the network

• People who have set up zero carbon community groups in Yorkshire sharing their experiences, ideas and current activities

• Facilitated discussions using Open Space for people to choose their priority topics. Such as:

  • Setting up and running a community group
  • Transport, Energy use (and production), Food and Nature
  • Engaging local communities
  • Working alongside local Councils

...….and any other issues people want to discuss.

• Local area networks - discussions in sub-regional areas - grouping people geographically with the aim of beginning to form smaller networks, talking about how to communicate, work together and share - to work towards integrating a Yorkshire wide network.
