UCLU and UCL are committed to fighting sexual harassment and we will not tolerate it under any circumstances. We understand that we all have a responsibility to make our University a safe space for all students and staff. This department has signed up to UCLU’s Zero Tolerance to Sexual Harassment Campaign. This means that we have made a commitment to challenge sexual harassment and support students and staff who experience it.
We will never tolerate sexual harassment of any kind. Sexual harassment is any unwanted and/or persistent behaviour of a sexual nature. Sexual harassment includes but is not limited to:
* Sexual comments (including comments about someone’s body or private life).
* Sexual invitations, innuendos, and offensive gestures.
* Wolf whistling, catcalling, or offensive sexual noises.
* Groping, pinching or smacking someone’s body.
* Tugging, pulling or lifting up someone’s clothing.
* Exposure of sexual organs.
* Stalking.
You can and are encouraged to report any incident of sexual harassment. You can talk to any member of staff in this department who you trust or email the Departmental Equal Opportunities Liaison Officer, Dimitrios Kraniotis at d.kraniotis@ucl.ac.uk , and they will be able to explain what options are available to you. You can also talk to the UCLU Women’s Officer, the UCLU Rights & Advice Centre or the UCL Student Mediator who will be able to advise you on the next steps. If you choose to discuss this with a member of UCL or UCLU staff you will not be under any pressure to formally report what has happened.
