Zero Waste Fashion Design: Half-Day Workshop
In this workshop you will be provided with a basic introduction to Zero Waste Fashion Design. The workshop will cover the following introduction to zero waste basics, precedents and will provide examples in context. Students will make paper model samples. Students will also be given an introduction to the Make/Use system for Zero Waste Fashion Design. https://makeuse.nz/
Students will be introduced to the Make/Use system for zero waste fashion design. In pairs, and in calico.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is only open to Glasgow School of Art students. No previous experience required. We will send an email one week in advance of the workshop, which will provide further details and include a list of supplies to bring to the workshop.
Holly McQuillan is a designer, writer and facilitator who works primarily in the field of sustainable design practice, researching the possibilities of form making for the body through a lens of zero waste, ethical design practice. Co-author of Zero Waste Fashion Design (2016), with 15 years experience teaching at undergraduate, masters and to industry and public, she is currently a PhD student at the Swedish School of Textiles.
