Beautiful Perth requests the pleasure of your company for the official launch event of the Zero Waste Perth campaign! This is an urban behavioural shift campaign focused on the 5 themes of food waste prevention, reuse & repair, recycling promotion, resource efficiency and circular economy opportunities.

We would be delighted if you are able to attend this event and give your views on the range of opportunities for businesses, communities, schools, residents and the third sector to get involved with the Zero Waste Perth campaign.

There may be more than one workshop that you are interested in, but please just select the most relevant one, or the one you would like to find out more about:

Workshop 1: Resource Efficiency and the Circular Economy

This workshop will seek to identify existing and new projects and activities that promote and deliver resource efficiency and circular economy opportunities at the local level across the project area. The aim is to explore how stakeholders from the business, community and education sectors can get involved and work in partnership to help deliver resource efficiency and circular economy opportunities.

Projects already identified include the active promotion of resource efficiency and the development of new resource efficiency toolkits to enable all sectors to become more efficient in terms of utility use; waste, water and energy. Local circular economy projects include Perth College WEEE Centre and Re-Tek, a Circular Economy Community Outreach and Education Programme, and Circular Construction.

Workshop 2: Recycling Promotion Projects

This workshop will seek to identify existing and new opportunities to promote recycling across the project area. The aim is to explore how stakeholders from the business, community and education sectors can get involved, work in partnership and develop innovative and engaging ways to help improve recycling in terms of both the quality and quantity of materials captured.

Projects already identified include a Recycling Community Outreach Programme, and a Commercial Recycling Engagement Programme, including the set-up of a new Zero Waste Business Network.

Workshop 3: Re-use and Repair Projects

This workshop will seek to identify existing and new re-use and repair projects and activities across the project area. The aim is to explore how stakeholders from the business, community and education sectors can get involved and work in partnership to help deliver re-use and repair opportunities.

Projects already identified include the existing local re-use network, and expanding opportunities and local skillsets for repair - including bikes, furniture and electronics, art, craft & jewellery, toys, clothes and much more.

Workshop 4: Food Waste Prevention Projects

This workshop will seek to identify existing and new food waste prevention projects and activities across the project area. The aim is to explore how stakeholders from the business, community and education sectors can get involved and work in partnership to improve food waste prevention.

Projects already identified include a commercial Food Share Network, a Food Waste Reduction Programme to include skills share and training.
