Join Aislinn Evans and a host of local artists and organisers for the launch of ROAD MOVIE: up against the noise. The zine is a collection of writings on the A13 and the lands along it, ranging from foraging to housing to ancient history. There'll be snacks, free copies of the zine, and a conversation about the A13, walking up it, and what we found.
Aislinn Evans Bio: Behind, underneath, too long, too close, intimate and interrogative, I am a site-responsive artist navigating the interstitial places I call home. I work across video and writing to document pockets of the British landscape; contested sites – sprawling estates, motorways, landfills. Undervalued or overlooked, these places hold critical questions about identity and power. Where we look from defines what we see, and how. I look at the landscape from within, behind, and underneath – DIY, lo-fi, and in collaboration. I’ve been working like this around Barking for nearly 5 years.
Presented in association with Barking Community Cinema, co-programmed by Abel Holsborough and Maria Anastassiou and hosts free monthly screenings of independent, artist film and experimental work.
