Do I have to be a social worker to take part?

The event is designed for anyone who is involved in social work or social care as a professional, student, service user, carer or volunteer

How much is the event?

The event is free of charge and is funded through a British Academy Small Grant on the history of social work zines in the West Midlands.

Do I need any experience in zinemaking?

No, the workshop is for complete beginners

Do I need to bring anything with me?

We will have materials available on the day, but if you have any old magazines or images relating to social work which you would like to use, you are very welcome to bring them. It might be useful if you do some thinking about what you would like to include in the zine, but this is not essential

Zine is short for 'fanzine', and is a self published, home-made small circulation magazine, often using recycled or repurposed materials and creative methods such as collage.
