Don’t let a broken zip cut your adventures short! In this practical workshop, you’ll learn how to repair, replace and maintain zips on outdoor clothing and equipment.

By far our most common repair, we’ll share what to look out for when buying new kit and our favourite tips for fixing your zips at home.

Extend the life of your favourite kit with this practical repair workshop. Learn about the importance of washing your gear, common repair issues and quick fixes you can do at home to help you save money (and reduce waste!)

Guided by a professional repairer, you’ll discover which tapes are best for different fabrics, and how to avoid costly zip repairs. We’ll cover the essential tools and materials, and what DIY bodges to avoid!

What you’ll Learn:

  • The most common zip types and sizes
  • Common faults and how to fix them
  • How to replace a zip slider

Workshop Includes:

  • 2 hour interactive session
  • Real life examples of common problems
  • All materials provided (optional: bring your own item to discuss and practice on)

This session is beginner-friendly, with all tools and practice materials provided. You’re also welcome to bring along your own items—jackets, bags, or tents—for tailored advice and hands-on support.
