Event description

Description

Music writer Zoë Howe invites you to tell your own rock ’n’ roll tales at a brand new storytelling session entitled Rockanory! Did you work as a roadie for Black Sabbath? Did you trouble the charts yourself? Did you trip over and fall into the arms of Morrissey at the Twisted Wheel? Basically, do you have a story to tell that’s rock ’n’ roll and true? Then come and join in the fun!

Rockanory will work a little like an open mic session - you register that you’d like to take part in the session in advance through the Louder website, entering your name here: http://louderthanwordsfest.com/contact/
It's just £2 to enter and/or join in the fun!

Ensure your rock ’n’ roll story is strictly no longer than 10 minutes (you might want to give it a practice run… no verbal diarrhoea here, everyone deserves a chance to speak!) and then just come along.

Zoë Howe's 'Rockanory’ originally took the form of a YouTube channel dedicated to sharing great music writing, and later a regular spot on Soho Radio’s ‘FreeSeed’ show in which she championed choice pieces of music writing in a bid to keep the grand tradition of rock ’n’ roll storytelling alive. But now it’s taken on a new guise - and it's YOUR turn to start talking.

Howe invites you to get stuck into the first ever Rockanory at Louder, share your memories, make a point, make us laugh, make us cry or just make new connections with each other! Now more than ever we barely scratch the surface of human interaction - sharing stories is a great way to pierce that membrane. (No John Robb pun intended).
