This is the fourth SPE member conversations. This event recognises that we in London's oil and gas industry have not retuned to our offices full-time. As a result, there have been no face-to-face networking events with SPE London since early 2020.

We're all missing out on face-to-face discussions about our industry. We will use Zoom's breakout rooms to allow small group discussions, as people feel more comfortable talking in a group of 5 instead of a group of 50.

This event is to allow networking and discussions between members of SPE London. After an introduction, you will be broken in to small groups of 3-5 people to chat about topics related to our work, careers and industry. After ten minutes you'll be put with new people to discuss a new topic, allowing you to meet around 15 people and get a range of ideas and opinions. This aims to replicate the small groups chats we had at in-person SPE events.

Each breakout room's discussion will develop differently. We will have conversation starter topics that may include:

Recent industry news
Media/social pressures on our industry related to the Energy Transition
Delays to FID and new field approvals with net zero (eg Cambo)
How we can assist new staff and graduates in our companies

The small group breakout sessions will be repeated a few times in the hour-long event with different (randomly assigned) groups of 3-5 people. That means we can replicate the social part of our events, but please provide your own drinks…

This event will be limited to 50 people.
