Zoom with a View - Right to Regenerate Consultation
Event Information
About this Event
The UK Government public consultation on "Right to Regenerate" is now open. This means our community (that's you!) could change our public spaces and buildings for the better - if we act now. Please join the Wyre Forest Community Land Trust for a presentation and discussion. The CLT is a group of volunteers trying to change the region for the better, particularly around land use and homes. The Government's proposal is that anyone can challenge the local council or other public bodies to show that they have plans for a neglected site or have to give the challenger first refusal to purchase. The intention is that the public would be able to convert vacant plots of land and derelict buildings - local eyesores - into new homes or community spaces, giving a new lease of life to unloved buildings and spaces. However, we all know that much well intentioned legislation is either ineffective or backfires and the consultation process is where we can all help to improve its chances of success. Please come and join the discussion and share your views.
