Organizing an event
Group your ticket types with ticket sections
When you create your event, you can group ticket types into sections that share a capacity. Tickets sold in one section won't affect the availability of tickets in other sections. To get started, create a new event and go to Add tickets. Then, select Create a section to create your first ticket section and add your ticket types.

Eventbrite's ticket sections feature is great for general admission events that:
Have separate inventories, like a balcony section and standing-room only section
Use multiple ticket types for the same inventory, like early bird or VIP Tickets
Have multiple types of tickets in different groups, like events that have several standard and several VIP ticket types
This feature isn't a good fit for events that use reserved seating. Instead, follow these steps to create reserved seating events.
Add sections to your event
To add sections, your event will need to be unpublished with no existing ticket types. If you've previously published your event (but didn't receive any sales or registrations), unpublish it first. If your event has already had any registrations, you won't be able to add sections.
1. Go to "Add tickets."
Log in to your Eventbrite account and go to Events .
Create a new event or select an existing event to go to the event dashboard. Then select Add tickets.
NOTE: The option to copy tickets from another event you've created may appear. If it does, select Create new tickets to begin without ticket types.
2. Select "Create a section."
If this button doesn't appear, make sure you have no existing ticket types.
To delete a ticket types, select the three-dot icon next to it, then select Delete. Deleting tickets is only available if you haven't sold any tickets yet.
3. Add a name and capacity.
The Section name will appear next to your ticket types during registration. The section capacity determines how many tickets, in total, you can sell in this section.
You can't change your section name after creating it, so don't include any details you might want to change later.
4. Select "Create."
After you add your first section, you can select Create section again to create additional sections. Create a section for each separate inventory or group of tickets.
For example, if part of your venue is standing-room only and part of your venue is a balcony, create a section for each.
5. Select "+ Add ticket type" to create a ticket type in a section.
Create a ticket type for each type of ticket you want to sell in that section. For example, if you want to offer a cheaper price for people who buy early, consider creating an early bird ticket type in addition to a general admission ticket type.
When you create tickets in a section, Quantity is an optional field. Don't set a quantity unless you want to further limit the number of tickets sold. For example, if you want your early bird ticket type available for the first 20 people who register, set its quantity to 20.
6. Save your changes.
You'll be able to edit your ticket types and sections even after you publish your event.
