You may know us as the DEI Coordinators — and that is how we are formally known within the Stronger Together Partnership. But we prefer Representation and Equity Coordinators. For us, those words better reflect what this work is actually about: making sure people are genuinely represented, and that equity — not just equality — is at the heart of everything we do.

The Representation & Equity Coordinators are part of the Stronger Together Partnership, hosted by Thurrock CVS.

We exist to make sure that the people, communities and organisations most often left out of decision-making, funding, and support are seen, heard and connected. Our work spans the full range of diversity, equity and inclusion — from race and ethnicity, to disability, gender, faith, age, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic background. We believe that equity is not a single issue and that real inclusion means creating space for everyone.

Within that, we bring particular focus to Global Majority-led communities and organisations — those whose voices and contributions have historically been overlooked, underrepresented, and underfunded. We support these organisations to grow, connect, and sustain themselves. We advocate for fairer engagement across the voluntary and community sector. And we create spaces — like this one — where community can come together on its own terms.

We are community-rooted, solutions-focused, and unapologetically committed to representation that goes beyond the surface.
