Se Wealds / Nathan T. Dean
The commonland(s), cultivating third spaces where people can share, commune, argue, discuss, co-create, co-learn and more with one another; in a world where division is the prerequisite, here we find openness in the common fields of community.
Nathan T. Dean is an artist, activist, therapist, anarchist, community builder, map-breaker, questioner, occultist and trouble-maker based in Sê Wealds, that place between The Wilds and The City, the semi-fictional edgeland between where That Is and where You Are.
What that is exactly is uncertain, and who you are may also be up for debate. We are a constellation of selves vying for attention, in a collapsing world, and what better way of responding to apocalypse (a great change, not something to be frightened of) than to build campfires and share art. The old civilisations lasted as long until the campfire burnt out; two hundred and fifty years is a long time.
This wizard (although not that much of a wise man; wisdom is not benign) is solitary, isolated, creative, and community-focussed, and wonders what the edgeland can bring to the remains of civilisation.
