I am Jamie, a screenwriter, producer, and director and a recipient of the Changemakers Scholarship at The Social Hub Foundation, Glasgow.

As Changemakers Scholars, my fellow scholars and I are opening the doors of The Social Hub to create something we believe Glasgow genuinely needs: "The Welcome Network."

Moving to a new city is supposed to feel like opportunity. But for so many people, it quietly becomes something else entirely. The loneliness creeps in before you even have a name for it. Sometimes you do not know why you are sad - you just are. And the hardest part? You cannot even call home, because everyone already thinks you are better off because you are here. So you carry it alone.

That is relocation depression. And it does not get talked about nearly enough.

The Welcome Network is our answer to that silence, a free, one-day cultural and community event bringing together live performances, expert panels, wellbeing sessions, career workshops, and real conversations with people who truly understand the weight of starting over. It is a space where your experience is not only understood; it is welcomed.

We are not just hosting an event. We are opening a door and saying: "You do not have to figure this out alone."
