Riot Ensemble

Winners of the Ernst von Siemens Ensemble Prize, Riot Ensemble is an internationally renowned UK-based group dedicated to the creation, exploration, and presentation of contemporary music. Comprised of leading European new-music soloists, Riot members work as performers, curators, commissioners, and collaborators on a wide range of innovative projects.

Riot performs regularly at leading festivals and venues in the UK and internationally, and their acclaimed discography has received international praise from The Guardian, The New Yorker and beyond. Since 2012, the ensemble has given over 350 world and UK premieres by composers from more than 35 countries, championing emerging international voices in the British new-music scene. Riot maintains close relationships with major composers including Liza Lim, Bára Gísladóttir, Clara Iannotta, Chaya Czernowin, Ann Cleare, and Georg Friedrich Haas, whose evening-length work Solstices was commissioned by the ensemble.
