Allegheny Historic Preservation Society
Since 1988, the Allegheny Historic Preservation Society (AHPS) has partnered with Calvary United Methodist Church to preserve and restore this historic structure on Pittsburgh's North Side. Preservation projects have included, replacement of the roof, refinishing and lighting the oak paneled ceiling, cleaning of the exterior stone, restoring the three large Stained Glass Windows by the Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company of New York, restoring many of the secondary stained glass windows, installation of the alarm systems, and much more. Currently project being spearheaded include the restoration of the 130 year old pew cushions. Through the Tiffany Concert Series, AHPS both raises funds and awareness of the preservation needs of this historic congregations architectural masterpiece.
