A Unity Leeds CIC collaboration with Human System Reset Lab
About Unity Leeds CIC
Unity Leeds CIC is a new community organisation, set up in December 2024 to build on the long-standing success of Hyde Park Unity Day and grow its impact throughout the year. We are a not-for-profit organisation focused on bringing people together through community events, creative activities, and shared learning.
Our roots: Unity Day
Unity Day began in 1995 as a response to challenges and negative perceptions in Hyde Park. It was created to bring people together and celebrate the area’s diversity, resilience, and creativity.
Over the past 20+ years, it has grown into a well-loved, free annual event, attracting around 5,000 people each year. The day includes live music, workshops, community stalls, and activities for all ages—creating a welcoming space for everyone.
What we stand for
Unity Day, and the work of Unity Leeds CIC, is rooted in inclusivity and belonging. We aim to create spaces where people from all backgrounds—long-term residents, students, families, and people of different cultures and faiths—can come together, connect, and feel part of their community.
What we do now
Unity Leeds CIC was formed to take this work beyond a single event. We are now developing a year-round programme of:
Community workshops and creative activities
Cultural and educational events
Collaborative projects with local groups and organisations
Volunteer opportunities for both residents and students
Our focus is on reducing isolation, building relationships, and strengthening community across Hyde Park (LS6) and wider Leeds.
Working together
We are always looking to connect with local organisations, groups, and individuals who share our values. Whether through collaboration, participation, or simply starting a conversation, we welcome opportunities to work together to support a more connected and inclusive community.
