Silver Snail Jewellery
Hi, I’m Vicky, the maker behind Silver Snail Jewellery.
I started my Silver Clay journey in 2023 and what started as a quiet, mindful hobby has grown into a small, sustainable business built around making things slowly and with care.
Silver Clay is a putty like substance made from recycled silver dust, water and an organic binder. When dried the water evaporates and the binder burns away during the firing process, leaving behind solid, fine (99.9%) silver in your design shape. It's an excellent way of recycling silver and a great eco-conscious choice to make sustainable and environmentally friendly jewellery.
I love the process of working with silver clay, shaping, refining, and transforming it into solid silver. Much of my inspiration comes from natural textures, especially shells and organic forms, which give each piece a soft, understated character. But I also like a little sparkle too, sometimes incorporating lab grown cubic zirconia gems in my designs, which I can teach you too. I am also an accredited silver clay artist, with a diploma from the Jewellers Academy in Silver Metal Clay.
My workshops are designed to feel welcoming and unpressured, even if you’ve never made anything before. I’ll guide you step by step, from your first design through to your finished piece, so you can enjoy the process and leave with something you’ve made yourself.
I look forward to seeing you in one of my classes soon.
