ESRC Festival of Social Science NI 2026
We are delighted to introduce the 2026 programme for the ESRC Festival of Social Science in Northern Ireland which runs from 17 October- 7 November 2026.
Queen's University Belfast and Ulster University have once again come together to curate and create an entertaining and informative programme of 12 talks, workshops and exhibitions. This diverse programme highlights the breadth and quality of social science research conducted by our academics and researchers across the many social science disciplines at both universities. This year’s festival includes a number of events themed around “Money, Finance and the Cost of Living”.
The Festival is an annual, UK-wide celebration of social science and the contribution it makes to major societal and economic challenges. It offers a fascinating insight into some of the country’s leading social science research and how it influences our lives – now and in the future.
This programme was made possible thanks to funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), which is part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
