NEANU 2025
The North of England Acute Neurology Update (NEANU) was established in 2014, and is now in it's 11th year.
This annual one-day update has been designed to provide practical and pragmatic advice for general and acute physicians dealing with patients admitted to hospital with neurological symptoms.
Our target audience is senior decision makers working on the unselected medical take.
Any profits from the event are deposited in the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences training, education, and research fund.
The course is curated by a team of neurologists, based at Salford Royal, who aim to design a different theme for the course each year. Previous years have seen the emphasis fall on neurological examination skills, common neurological diseases and acute management of neurological emergencies.
Delivered by consultant neurologists, this course will provide invaluable practical information that will be used on a daily basis by those working in acute and general medicine.
For 2025 topics covered include:
Headache
Blackouts
Off legs:
- focused history taking
- approaching the clinical examination
- reviewing the imaging
- understanding the neurophysiology
Hybrid in-person at Salford Royal Hospital, Wednesday, 10th Sept 2025, 10.00 - 16:30 GMT, and online (though we encourage in-person attendance for the best experience).
5 RCP CPD Points have been applied for.
