May Project Gardens CIC
MAY PROJECT GARDENS - Reconnecting with nature for personal, social and economic transformation.
May Project Gardens is an award-winning, London-based grassroots organisation.
We're here to empower marginalised groups to address poverty, disempowerment and access to resources and influence.
We provide practical, affordable, and collective solutions for people to live sustainably and challenge power structures that don't serve their interests.
We do this using what we consider universally connecting tools - nature, food and creative arts - to foster people’s personal transformation, which collectively leads to social change.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER - KMT FREEDOM TEACHER
KMT combines his love for music and nature, grounded in a deep respect for the beauty and abundance of Pachamama (Mother Earth). His goal is to entertain and educate, as he addresses issues of global food security, providing solutions for local food growing systems.
With over 20 years of leading positive social change and raising awareness for a multitude of social issues through the powerful words and rhythms of Hip Hop music, KMT demonstrates a non- exhaustive passion for the environment and conservation.
OUR ECOSYSTEM INCLUDES:

HIP HOP GARDEN
Our Hip Hop Garden programme engages urban youth with nature through popular Hip Hop culture, which transcends language and cultural backgrounds. It’s delivered through five AQA accredited modules; Wellbeing, Food, Hip Hop, Employment & Entrepreneurship and Event Management.
NATURAL CITY LIVING
This is a series of workshops and events designed to bring together people from various communities and local interest groups. The goal is to explore how to live sustainably in an urban environment. This project also serves as a prelude to the intended development of the MPG garden into a 'community-led Urban Retreat'. The space will serve as a restorative and creative hub for the community.
