Social Recruitment Advocacy Group

Social Recruitment Advocacy Group

The Social Recruitment Advocacy Group (SRAG) exists to empower employers as they recruit people who are disadvantaged in the labour market, and prioritise the creation of Social Value. It was set up in 2022 by PeoplePlus UK and membership has grown rapidly.

The SRAG is chaired by former Skills Minister Rt Hon Anne Milton, and is supported by a diverse network of organisations working together to drive positive action - it is a strategic, business-focused forum and platform for communication with regular opportunities to meet, share, learn and develop.

Socially responsible recruitment, or social recruitment, is an approach to hiring that positively impacts every part of society and the economy by moving unemployed people, who are furthest away from the labour market, into sustainable jobs. The ‘disadvantages’ or 'barriers' to employment are created by a huge range of factors. Individuals who have been sidelined in the labour market - from young people not in education, employment, or training (NEET), black and ethnic minority communities, unpaid carers, prison-leavers, those living in poverty and areas of multiple deprivation, people with long-term health and disability challenges - need targeted support.

We welcome membership enquires year-round - follow this link for for more information.

At PeoplePlus we treat everyone respectfully and do not tolerate any form of harassment or disrespect for whatever reason. We expect those attending our events to maintain our standards of inclusion, positive communication and openness at all times.
