Jane was the first nurse in England to obtain an MSc degree in travel medicine. She is a leading figure in the UK in this field of practice, was Chair of the RCN Travel Health Forum 2000 - 2006 and lead author on the RCN guidance: Travel health nursing, career and competence development. Jane was Director of Education of the Faculty of Travel Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow 2015/2016 and in October 2018 became Dean of the Faculty of Travel Medicine, RCPSG - the first nurse (and female) to hold this 3 year honorary position. Jane still sees patients seeking travel health advice in a primary care setting in London. She started training healthcare professionals 20 + years ago, writes regular features in both Practice Nurse and Travel Medicine and Infectious Disease journals and she lectures both nationally and internationally. She is passionate about teaching and developing tools for healthcare professionals to use in a travel consultation - all freely available on her website.
