The Sussex Menopause Nurse

The Sussex Menopause Nurse

My name is Jenny and I am The Sussex Menopause Nurse. Menopause is such an important topic. After my experience of my menopause in my early 40s, I decided that I was going to make it my mission to give support and guidance to women, that wasn't available to me when I needed it. After many years (over 30!) working in General Practice I am now able to concentrate fully on menopause. I am a member of the British Menopause Society and College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. I have studied quite extensively in the field of menopause and I hold the FSRH Certificate in Menopause Care which included practical training at The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. I attend the British Menopause Conference every year and continue to attend study days and workshops to keep myself up to date.

I currently teach nurses about menopause on The Menopause Course as we desperately need more clinicians to fully understand the impact of menopause and its management. I also run menopause education sessions for organisations and companies such as Sussex Police, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, The Nursing and Midwifery Council and Infinity Foods. Please contact me by email if you would like me to run a session in your workplace. I am also available for private consultations.

I will be running small group sessions on topics such as "All you need to know about menopause", "Managing menopause without HRT" and "HRT demystified". These sessions will be kept as small groups of no more that 8. The aim of the session is to make menopause information more accessible, educational and supportive. We will have about an hour where I will talk about the subject and I always encourage questions to make sure you get all of the information you need. This is then followed by a cuppa and discussions.
