Aethos Training and Consultancy

Aethos Training and Consultancy takes an innovative and holistic approach to wellbeing through learning and development.  Dr Natalie Tobert, Medical Anthropologist and Education Director at Aethos Training facilitates interactive workshops where experiences of participants help to clarify our understanding of Mental Wellbeing.  Natalie says: "As human migration brings an ever more diverse range of people, cultures and beliefs into contact, Western medical systems must adapt to cater for the different approaches it encounters towards illness, the body, gender, mental health and death."

Natalie's two most recent published books are 'Spiritual Psychiatries' and 'Cultural Perspectives on Mental Wellbeing'

Her interactive workshops are inspired by her experience of working in Sudan and India.  Society, culture, spirituality and health are explored in a way which provides an unusual insight into the way we tick as human beings. Drawing on ancient beliefs which are deep within all of us, her courses and workshops give us a language to express what is happening both in our lives and the lives of those around us.

The Clash of Beliefs series is aimed at Health Professionals, Experts by Experience, Carers and anyone interested in developing their understanding of mental health and their emotional intelligence.

Aethos Training offers seminars exploring new spiritual and cultural frameworks for understanding unusual experiences. The evidence provided in the training and supported in the 'Cultural Perspectives' book discusses radical challenges to common consensus.

The training is suitable for front line medical and health care practitioners who want to explore more spiritual ways of interpreting ‘symptoms’. In the long term the aspiration of Aethos Training is to reduce distress, and support those practitioners who are aware their original training does not fit the spirit of our times.

Aethos Training is available for in-house training and we are willing to discuss tailoring courses to fit your budget and work schedules.
