African & Caribbean Arts & Heritage Union

STRONGER TOGETHER.

The African and Caribbean Arts & Heritage Union is a new not-for profit organisation that was set up in 2019 to promote racial equality, cultural identity, inclusion, diversity and youth engagement and development in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. It is a partnership of two organisations, Global Outreach Foundation MK (GOFMK) and Friends of the Caribbean MK (FOTC). The ACAHF was brought together by the belief that UK based African and Caribbean communities are stronger together especially but not limited to residents of Milton Keynes & surrounding areas. This drive is to recognise the diversity of Milton Keynes, tackle inequalities and bring about positive change by supporting all young people across MK to develop their sense of identity, culture, self-worth, confidence, motivation, and practical life skills through our various activities.

The African-Caribbean (AC) is a partnership of two organisations (Global Outreach Foundation MK (GOFMK) and Friends of the Caribbean MK (FOTC)). The two organisations have been in existence for over seven years. With increasing knife and gun crime in Milton Keynes and many young people, especially but not limited to those from the ethnic minority, struggling with identity and role models. The AC partnership was brought together in 2019 by their believe that we are stronger together; a drive to recognise the diversity of Milton Keynes and therefore support all young people across MK to develop their sense of identity, culture, self-worth, confidence, motivation and practical life skills through African-Caribbean Carnival. The AC has a strategic steering group that advises and supports the partnership.
