Alessandro Cortello

I am an Italian tenor. I started my vocal training with Alfredo Mariotti and later studied with Claude Thiolas and Luciana D'Intino. I graduated in Piano in 2008 and in Singing in 2009. I won two editions of the Seghizzi Singing Competition in Gorizia, in 2005 and in 2007. As an opera singer, I have performed many roles in operas by Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini and Offenbach. I took part in the Rai Italian Television productions of Rigoletto (2010) conducted by Zubin Mehta with Placido Domingo in the title-role and Cenerentola (2012). As a chamber music singer, I performed several times Schubert's and Schumann's Lieder cycles, besides works by Haydn, Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt, Mahler, Strauss, Berg, Fauré, Duparc, Ravel, Rachmaninov, Britten, Copland… I also enjoy singing Sacred Music: Requiem by Mozart, Liszt, Dvořak and Verdi, Haydn's Missa in Tempore Belli, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Orff's Carmina Burana... I performed in Italy and in the UK, Ireland, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece and Russia. I recorded some compositions by M.E.Bossi with organist Andrea Macinanti and took part in the debut album of the renowned Italian baritone Giorgio Caoduro.
