ACEF

ACEF works to change the lives of children in a large slum in Nairobi. We improve education, health and opportunities by supporting Brainhouse Academy.

History - In May 2010, Liz Formby, visited Brainhouse Academy for the first time. Inspired by the potential to support the school, ACEF was formed to provide basic health and food supplies. From there, and through the volunteered expertise of amazing supporters, we have installed solar panels, built biogas toilets and provided vocational opportunities, all of which were requested by the school as part of their vision. We have also worked with the leaders and teachers in the school to support them in developing their skills.

We have evolved into a passionate group of people who bring together varied expertise to raise funds and undertake projects to improve the dignity and life chances of children at Brainhouse Academy.

Vision - We help Brainhouse Academy to provide a safe haven for vulnerable young children, many of whom are orphans, who seek shelter, education and security away from the deprivation and challenges of their lives in one of the world’s largest slums – Mathare North in Kenya.

ACEF seeks to ensure that all those who attend Brainhouse Academy are afforded the basic rights and dignity all young people in the world should receive.
