Amina Abdat
Dr Amina Abdat is the founder of The Round Table Writing Retreats and a researcher specialising in Modern Foreign Language (MFL) education and teacher professional development in cross-cultural contexts. She earned her PhD at the University of East London, where her research explored MFL teachers’ perceptions of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Algeria and England.
As a bilingual Arab woman and former MFL teacher, her work is grounded in lived experience, addressing issues of reflexivity, power relations, and ethics in research. Passionate about bridging academia and practice, she established The Round Table Writing Retreats to reduce the isolation many PhD students face during the writing process.
