Andreena Leeanne

Andreena Leeanne is a out and proud Black Lesbian Poet, Compere & Inspirational Speaker.

She writes and performs poetry to speak about her personal experiences with abandonment, homelessness, mental health and childhood sexual abuse. By speaking her truth she inspires and empowers others to speak their truth and take action.

Andreena founded Poetry LGBT Open Mic Night in January 2015. Poetry LGBT is a warm and welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community to come together to share their experiences through poetry and spoken word. It is a vital and much needed space for the LGBTQ+ community to share, create and express themselves. Andreena facilitates these sessions live at a venue and online via Zoom.

Andreena has performed her poetry at various community led events, Labour Party events and for Local Authorities such as LB Hackney during LGBT History Month, the Greater London Authority and at International Women’s Day events.

In 2018 She was one of Stonewall’s Black History Month role models.

In 2020 she has been nominated for a National Diversity Award.

She is currently working on publishing a collection of her poems.

The fee she charges start at £100 and depends on various factors such as the event type, location, workshop required and duration. For example she charges £100 to recite 2 poems at an event in London and £500 to deliver a 6 week, 2 hrs per week writing group workshop online.
