Angling and Mental Health Initiative (AMHI)

AMHI (Angling & Mental Health Initiative) was setup in 2021, as a development project to get people fishing. The project was aimed at creating open day events to get people fishing, promoting good mental health and improving wellbeing within the community.

The project grew significantly, thanks to the support of the Angling Trust, the Environment Agency and an exclusive sponsorship with Bodle Angling (Burgess Hill). This allowed us to deliver open day sessions under the brand we had created, ‘Let’s Go Fishing!’. This allowed us to introduce people to the sport, and gave them the opportunity to explore the benefits that fishing has to wellbeing.

The project plan grew further, where we were creating events, hosting sessions for schools/groups and working towards social prescribing links with the NHS.

Over 1000 Participants since the first event in 2022!

We are providing coaching facilities for angling pathways and further skillset training in fishing. The Angling Development is another product that provides training programs, such as our popular "Hooked on Learning" based on the Angling Trust's CAST Awards, and our own Angling Essentials Courses.
