Anthony Davies childhood bereavement
In May 2023, Anthony Davies died suddenly, Leaving behind his 2 year old daughter. Following his death it became very apparent that there where no services to help young children, under 5, with bereavement support. That's when, Anthony Davies childhood bereavement, was born.
All of the families we help, will have experienced a Significant loss. Whether that be a parent, sibling, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin or friend. These significant losses still create a trauma for young children, if not processed correctly and timely. Bereavement, when left unprocessed can lead to many life long mental health disorders, due to the confusion and upset they face with their limited understanding.
Bereaved children are more likely to 'act' out their trauma in ways such as:
- Behavioural change / problems.
- Being unable to concentrate or retain knowledge, leading to issues in school.
- Issues in socialising, less likely to participate in social activity.
- Attachment issues, separation Anxiety which can lead onto generalised anxiety disorder.
By giving parents & caregivers the support, tools and confidence to guide there child through grief as their understanding of death evolves. Leading to a more balanced and stable emotional wellbeing into school and beyond.
