Art Fund Surrey

The Art Fund Surrey Committee has been well established for many years and currently there are eight members working to raise money for Art Fund. On the whole the Committee runs a wide-ranging series of lectures, which take place at The Menuhin Hall, Stoke d'Abernon, Cobham, a lovely venue with free parking and an amazing acoustic. For example recently we had lectures on The Art of Visual Deception and Fakes and Forgeries . Upcoming lectures include Donatello and the Sculpture of the Italian Renaissance and All the World's a Stage: Artists' Responses to Entertainers.

The Committee also arranges visits, some to private studios and houses and some to larger venues, for example we have recently visited Pelham Place to see Philip de Laszlo's paintings and Chiswick House and Gardens. We have also held joint events at Watts Gallery and The Lightbox in the past. The 2017 programme will include such varied lectures as Peter Breugel the Elder, The Prado and Brangwyn the Polymath as well as visits to Chawton House and The Royal College of Arms. We are also planning a private tour to Venice. The Committee is always looking for ways to widen their scope and welcomes any suggestions.

If you would like to be added to the Surrey email list, please contact surrey@artfund.org.uk and similarly if you might be interested in joining the Committee.
