Madame B’s Boutique began as a small creative side project back in 2011. I began developing different product lines to see what would work, and by 2013 I started to focus more on weddings. I realised that although there were plenty of cheap, mass-produced products around, there was a real demand for wedding accessories with an individual, personal touch that were also kind to the environment.

I got a good grounding in traditional millinery (hat-making) skills from the London College of Fashion and am a total vintage fashion addict, so I love to reference the styles of the 1940’s – 1960’s, but with a modern twist.

Everything you see in my Shop is made by hand using vintage or recycled materials whenever possible, which I gather from vintage/antique markets and various sources on the internet (check out my Fabric Library for examples).

If you request a custom order, you can even choose to recycle some fabric you might have at home, (perhaps left over from making your wedding outfit, for example) and have me create you something new and gorgeous from it. Veggie and vegan-friendly options are available on request too.

Making sure that everything I use is from a sustainable, ethical source is something I’m very passionate about, and is a key part of the ethos of Madame B’s Boutique, which is why I’m a member of the Ethical Fashion Forum free network. That way, when you buy from me you’re not just getting something super pretty to wear that’s made just for you, you’re also getting that warm fuzzy glow that comes from doing something good for the planet.

If you’re also a creative, crafty person, I love teaching workshops too and am happy to run tailor-made craft parties for small groups (for more information, please see Workshops & Events).
