Across the UK today 6.5 million people are carers, supporting a loved one who is older, disabled or seriously ill. That’s 1 in 8 adults who care, unpaid, for family and friends. Within our lifetime, there will be 9 million carers.

Many carers are stretched to the limit – juggling care with work and family life, or even struggling with poor health themselves. Carers may find it difficult to make ends meet if they’re unable to work or have reduced their working hours to care.

Every day 6,000 people become carers. Many don’t know how or where to get help. It can be frightening and very lonely. We're there for them when that happens.

We give expert advice, information and support.

Caring can be extremely complicated. The maze of rights and entitlements can be bewildering. We're here to make sure that no matter how complicated a query is, no one has to care alone.

We connect carers so no-one has to care alone.

Through our carers' groups and volunteers we're reaching out in local communities throughout the UK and online.

We campaign together for lasting change.

We're at the forefront of the carers’ movement, bringing carers together to have a voice and deliver lasting change.

We innovate to find new ways to reach and support carers.

We work with local authorities and other organisations to improve services for carers throughout the UK.
