The English Tea Table is a leading learning resource based in London, UK. It provides information about English Afternoon Tea customs and rituals to customers across the world.

Created by Caroline Hope, it transfers knowledge through practical workshops, lectures, curated events, and in-depth study courses. The English Tea Table is the new trading name for Caroline Hope Ltd (est 2011).

The English Tea Table works with concierge services, schools and specialist education establishments around the world. It is a UK registered learning provider.

A high proportion of clients are individual private clients visiting the UK. In addition The English Tea Table curates events for travel agencies, hotels and restaurant groups.

Caroline Hope is a food researcher and art practitioner. She has been teaching classes and curating tea-related events for more than twenty years. TV and radio programmes and print media in Japan, East Asia and Europe have featured Caroline and her work. She travels abroad and across the UK, presenting lectures and demonstration. She has taught at City Lit in central London, Caroline has worked with Time Out and other publications teaching the practical and performative aspects of baking, thus imparting information on how our ingredients work.

Caroline recently completed a MA By Project at London Metropolitan University. Her research project was concerned with transferring knowledge about notions of politeness at the English tea table. Caroline continues to research the cultural phenomenon known as the English afternoon tea. She is particularly interested in studying how rituals and customs are handed down from one generation to another.
