Chester University Centre for Faiths and Public Policy

The Centre for Faiths and Public Policy (CFPP) exists to promote greater knowledge, understanding and analysis of the relationship between religion and public policy and wider public life in the UK and beyond.  The Centre is a partnership enterprise between the University of Chester and the William Temple Foundation. Professor Chris Baker is Director of CFPP.

St. Thomas' is a parish church in Stockport, covering an area of about 5000 people. It was consecrated in 1825. The building is home to a diverse Christian community, and stands as a reminder of Christ's presence and the Church's mission in Stockport.  St. Thomas' Church was built primarily to serve the needs of the local community and it is this vision that continues today through worship, social events and community outreach, manifest through the work of our Community Development Worker Matthew Barber and emeging #HOPEis initiative including spaces of learning, hospitality and market interaction.
