Chiswick Repair Cafe Workshops
About Us
The Chiswick Repair Cafe is a voluntary initiative to help reduce waste, share repair skills and strengthen the local community. We hope you will come along and visit us soon.
We are a voluntary organisation, supported by the Hounslow Environmental Champions programme. We are lucky to work with over 50 volunteers with a wide range of repair skills and expertise that allow us to make each Repair Cafe happen.
How Does It Work?
People bring their broken or worn items to the Repair Cafe and our volunteer repairers help them to mend their things, teach repair skills, or give advice on what can be done. None of our volunteers are paid, we all volunteer our time for this good cause. Visitors pay for any necessary parts and are asked to make a donation to the Repair Cafe running costs. Any excess funds are donated to a variety of local and environmental charities each year, which are listed in our annual impact report.
When Is It?
The Chiswick Repair Cafe happens once a month (with some exceptions for holidays), on Saturdays at Christ Church Turnham Green, 10:30am – 1pm.
Our 2025 dates are listed on the Dates page of our website.
Are You Interested In Setting Up A Repair Cafe?
We have helped many other Repair Cafes to get set up. People often approach us when they are interested in setting up their own community repair initiative, and we are happy to share our experiences with them. We recommend coming to visit us to see a Repair Cafe in action and ask more questions. Please do get in touch if you are thinking about setting up your own event, as we would be very happy to help answer any questions you have; in fact we think every neighbourhood should have its own Repair Cafe.
Workshops
We are organising workshops to share more information about Repair Cafes. Please join one of our online workshops to find out how to set up your own Repair Cafe. We would love to meet you!
