Cinzia D'Ambrosi

I am an independent documentary photographer and photojournalist with over 10 years experience in the industry. I hold an MA in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism from LCC, University of London. I seek to advocate with my work and have done so in various projects addressing economic oppression, identity based violence, prejudice and marginalisation. I tend to work on long term projects, often collaborating with NGO's, charities and voluntary organisations. In the last two years working on the documentary photographic project Hate Hurts, I collaborated with Amnesty International Greece, PeriDirittiUmani, UNHCR and Amnesty International Hungary. Previous work includes documenting the illegal coal mining industry in China, the Widows of War in Kosovo and the plight of Roma populations in the Balkans. Recently, I received an Award from the Photographers gallery (2017) for the series ‘Hate Hurts’. I won an Award Best Campaign (2016) with the short film ‘Prejudice and us’ from Hammersmith United Charities, the photo book ‘Transitional’ was nominated at the Athens Photo Festival 92015). Among other accolades, I was an Arts Council grant winner with the photography project ‘Greetings from the estates’.
