“Comics for Kids” was founded in 2003It all began with a simple conversation between two people who wanted to make a difference by creating a onetime fundraiser. The idea was to assemble a stand-up comedy show featuring local amateurs. Tickets would be sold and the proceeds would benefit University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. That first show ran for three hours and featured local amateur and professional comics from the greater Cleveland area. The proceeds were small, but the event turned out to be a fun filled evening for all who attended and participated. It was the beginning of an annual event that would soon grow beyond our expectations.
