Cornwall Gateway CIC
Cornwall Gateway CIC is an industry-led Community Interest Company committed to transforming Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly’s food and drink sector through innovation, infrastructure, and inclusive growth. Established in 2023, the organisation leads the development of the Cornwall Gateway Agri-Food & Drink Centre, a strategic initiative designed to address critical challenges in the region’s supply chain, productivity, and food security.
Following a comprehensive feasibility study funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and concluded in March 2025, Cornwall Gateway CIC has engaged over 200 businesses and stakeholders to shape a phased plan for a purpose-built centre. The proposed facility will include shared production and packaging infrastructure, a market access hub, a drinks production centre, and dedicated spaces for start-ups, skills development, and research.
With over 50,000 people employed in Cornwall’s food and drink supply chain and the sector contributing more than £2.6 billion to the regional economy, Cornwall Gateway CIC aims to unlock growth, reduce carbon emissions, and retain value locally. The organisation works collaboratively with industry leaders, educational institutions, and public sector partners to ensure the centre reflects the needs of micro and SME producers and supports long-term resilience and innovation.
Driven by values of Ambition, Commitment, Openness, Respect, and Nurturing (ACORN), Cornwall Gateway CIC is building a future where Cornish food and drink businesses can thrive, careers can flourish, and communities can benefit from a sustainable, high-value food economy.
