About Creative Thinking South Devon

Creative Thinking South Devon are a group of idea driven Devon people that meet once a month to think creatively with a guest not-for-profit organisation. The hope is the ideas from that session will help inspire and make a difference to the guest organisation.

Attendees

Anyone can come along to a meeting. It’s a fun and friendly evening, where you will get to learn some creative thinking tools, whilst helping a local worthwhile cause. The meeting location varies and attendees are asked to contribute £7.50 towards the cost of refreshments and a light supper.

What members can expect

A fun, friendly and interesting evening with the opportunity to challenge your thinking skills and refresh your brainstorming techniques; all the while doing something good for and learning about a local organisation.

Guest Organisations

The guest organisations are local, not for profit organisations who brings 2 or 3 key prpblems to the group to think about. Some of the guest organisations we have met with before include:-

Typical Format of the Meeting, 6pm to 9pm

17:55 Arrive, Tea & Coffee.

18:00 Welcome and general introductions.

18:05 Host sets the scene for the evening and briefs everyone on the creative thinking tools available. Usually followed by a fun ice-breaker!

18:30 Guest Organisation tells the group about themselves, highlighting the main challenges they are facing.

18:45 Group get to ask questions of the Guest Organisation to ensure understanding.

19:00 3 key probelms that require some creative thinking are identified. 

19:00 Break for food.

19:30 Group gets to work, using creative thinking tools, to generate ideas around the challenges faced.

20:30 Group present ideas back to the Guest Organisation, explaining what creative thinking tools they used.

20:45 Guest Organisation gives feedback and gets to ask questions. 

21:00 Host closes the meeting and Guest Organisation are free to take away all copies of flipcharts / notes etc.
