Curry Forever
Curry is more than a dish—it is a story of journeys, migration, and connection. From the
kitchens of South Asia to the streets of Britain and beyond, curry has travelled the world,
carrying with it traditions, memories, and the power to bring people together.
The World Curry Festival was born in 2008 out of this spirit. The first event in 2010 made
history in Leeds, bringing international chefs, performers, and audiences to celebrate a
cuisine that belongs to everyone. From its early years through to 2016, the festival became a
recognised platform for cultural diplomacy, creativity, and culinary excellence.
Now, in 2025, the festival returns with renewed purpose as part of Bradford’s UK City of
Culture celebrations. Over two weeks, from 15–29 September, the city will host a vibrant
programme of banquets, street food, theatre, and immersive dining experiences. Each event
is curated to showcase the diversity of curry culture while addressing contemporary
themes: sustainability, health, wellbeing, and community.
The festival is powered by Curry Forever CIC, a movement supporting the curry industry
and its people, with creative productions from Giant Chilli and culinary innovation from
Curryosity. Together, these brands create a platform that is both rooted in tradition and
future-facing.
