All Praise is for Allah – subhanahu – the Rabb of the worlds. May the salah and salam of Allah be upon His final Prophet and Messenger Mohammad, his family and his companions.

Dar Al-Arqam was established in the Summer of 2008 providing an educational platform for the Muslim community. We hope to nurture our students with the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah as understood by the Salaf thus preserving the Deen. The teaching of the Islamic sciences are coupled with tazkiyah (purification) and tarbiyah (mentoring) in the hope of rectifying our actions and bettering our character with Allaah – jalla thana’uhu – and His slaves.

“Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own, who shall recite unto them Your Verses and teach them the Book (this Qur’an) and the Hikmah (the Prophetic traditions), and purify them. Verily! You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 129)"

Dar Al-Arqam endeavors to deliver a sound and comprehensive understanding of the Islamic sciences. Our classes are taught on a long-term basis. We have a strong emphasis on teacher-student relationship, thereby encouraging our students to create a rapport/relationship with the teacher. Through this relationship the student is furthered guided to the Prophetic qualities and characteristics by which the inheritance of the Prophets (Islamic knowledge) is passed on. This way the chain is completely and perfectly preserved in terms of the Message and the manner in which it is to be conveyed.

The Islamic education at Dar Al-Arqam is free. No compensation or reward is sought except from Allah – subhanahu wa ta’ala. Allah, due to the immense honour of this knowledge, commands the Prophets and Messengers to not ask of the creation any reward in return for conveying this great trust:

“They are those whom Allah had guided. So follow their guidance. Say: ‘No reward I ask of you for this (the Qur’an). It is only a reminder for the worlds.’” (Surah Al-An’am, verse 90)"

We hope to be from those about whom the Messenger of Allah – salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam – said:

“The one who treads upon the path, seeking in it Knowledge, Allah through it will lead him to a path of Jannah. And indeed, the angels lower their wings in satisfaction for the Seeker of Knowledge. And verily, for the ‘alim (scholar), everything in the skies and earth ask for him to be forgiven, even the fish in the sea. And truly the status of an ‘alim over a worshiper is like the moon over all the planets…” (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi and others)
