DARPL

DARPL (Diversity and Anti-Racist Professional Learning) brings together a diverse team of providers funded by Welsh Government working together on this platform. A learning, teaching, training and resources hub with a Welsh perspective for raising multi-disciplinary racial consciousness as we all work together within the New Curriculum for Wales. This work follows on from the recent ground-breaking work undertaken by Welsh Government, and led by Professor Charlotte Williams and The Working Group on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Communities, Contributions and Cynefin in the New Curriculum for Wales (Welsh Government, 2021). Welsh Government also published an Action Plan in October 2021 for the Welsh teaching profession and Welsh Universities to embrace this change agenda and begin to level the playing field for Minority Ethnic ITE students, schoolteachers and leaders.

Mae DARPL (Dysgu Proffesiynol ar Wrth-hiliaeth ac Amrywiaeth) yn dwyn ynghyd dîm amrywiol o ddarparwyr a ariennir gan Lywodraeth Cymru ac sy’n cydweithio ar y platfform hwn. Mae’n cynnwys adnoddau, addysgu a dysgu proffesiynol ar gyfer codi ymwybyddiaeth o hiliaeth, o safbwynt Cymru ac ar draws y disgyblaethau, wrth i bawb gydweithio mewn perthynas â’r Cwricwlwm Newydd i Gymru. Mae’r prosiect hwn yn dilyn y gwaith arloesol diweddar a wnaed gan Lywodraeth Cymru, dan arweiniad yr Athro Charlotte Williams a’r Gweithgor Cymunedau, Cyfraniadau a Chynefin Pobl Dduon, Asiaidd a Lleiafrifoedd Ethnig yn y Cwricwlwm Newydd (Llywodraeth Cymru, 2021). Fe wnaeth Llywodraeth Cymru hefyd gyhoeddi Cynllun Gweithredu ym mis Hydref 2021 ar gyfer y proffesiwn addysgu yng Nghymru a Phrifysgolion Cymru, er mwyn croesawu’r agenda hon am newid a dechrau sicrhau tegwch i arweinwyr, athrawon ysgol a myfyrwyr Addysg Gychwynnol i Athrawon o Leiafrifoedd Ethnig.
